Kimberly

Kimberly was in pain. From an early age, she felt robbed of her innocence and taken advantage of. As a result, it’s hard for her to trust, not only others, but herself as well. The lines of pleasure and abuse have been blurred by years of shame. She turns to unhealthy distractions to avoid the pain, but they just lead to further detachment and discouragement. The closest thing to intimacy she experiences these days is brief, empty sexual encounters. There must be more than this.

John

John feels inadequate. It seems as though every relationship is doomed from the start. No matter how hard he tries to make them work, they never do. Repeated failures and rejections have convinced him that there is something wrong with him. He starts pushing people away and self-sabotaging, since he doesn’t think he deserves to be loved. It’s lonely to live this way, but there doesn’t feel like any other option. Something has to change.

Jessica

Jessica can’t get out of her own head. Even the most trivial choices are ruminated on and second-guessed to the point of absurdity. She tries to connect with people, but every social situation is followed by a sleepless night in bed, replaying each interaction in painstaking detail. Moments of hopefulness lead her to start projects, only for them to be abandoned at the first sign of disappointment. She wants a more fulfilling life than this, but making a change feels impossible.

Don’t give up.

Kimberly

Kimberly reached out for help as she was tired of the way she was living. She was introduced to EMDR and Somatic yoga and she is learning self-love and how to challenge the thoughts that decreased her value and caused her to trade her body for connection. Through therapy she has learned how to set appropriate boundaries and is gaining control over her life one day at a time.

John

John reluctantly reached out for help after another failed relationship and fear that he would never have a family of his own. He was introduced to EMDR and has addressed his negative belief that something is wrong with him. Through inner child work he was able to identify the negative self-talk that was causing him to self-sabotage and that caused him to internalize the rejection and blame himself for other’s choices. He is more confident than ever before and is in a healthy and loving relationship now.

She was introduced to EMDR and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, which allowed her to address the intrusive thoughts that caused her to spiral out of control.
